Wood Letters

This is really not a tutorial today, it's more of a look what
I made.....and I am selling them too.
I have been decorating wood letters like these for a
while now.  I've done them for things such as, baby nurseries,
shower gifts, I did a little boy's name for his room, and decorated the
letters in an animal theme, I did a letter "h" for a salon in the salon's cute colors of black and pink.  These are just examples of what I have made.
Whenever I make them, they are always a big hit with everyone.
I'm telling you this because I am selling them, and thought
I would ask if anyone was interested in ordering any.
They are perfect gifts for anyone! (And, Mother's Day IS coming up!)
They can be any word, name, initial, baby name, school name, team name, holiday etc etc....
anything that you want it to say.
AND they can be decorated in any
color scheme and theme.
This "cake" that I made is just an example of the many possibilities.

Please let me know if you would like to place an order!
I would be happy to make your letter/word for you!
Thanks!

Foster Weld..About Us

I thought I would post on here the "about us" section from Foster Weld's website, just so you could get to know them a little better.

We quit our day jobs to do this. Why? We like playing with metal. And we're pretty good  at it. We know, because
- people buy our stuff in stores from Portland to Philly
- nobody ever said "don't quit your day job." (Not that we'd have listened.)

It's just a lot of fun to make stuff, using hand grinders, machine tools and plasma cutters especially, and we like knowing that everything that comes out of our shop here in Indianapolis is distinctive, original and built to last. Handmade, hand-painted, hand-distressed... No two pieces are exactly alike, which is decidedly unlike 99% of the cra-- excuse us, *merchandise* you'll see out there on the market. And it's been like that since we started It basically comes down to this: We're doing what we love, and we think it shows in everything we create. Whether it's a ten-dollar cuff or a $2000 cabinet, you get the fruits of our passion, our drive, and our inspiration. Hope you like metal fruit.

-Foster Weld
www.fosterweld.com

Now you know why they are so cool!  They make their own stuff by hand, no 2 items are alike, they take great care in what they make and make it to last.  I highly recommend that you go check out their website. www.fosterweld.com

They have everything:
cool belts
unique belt buckles
awesome cuffs
etc. etc.

And remember to use the code FW15 to get 15% off your order!

This is just a reminder to head on over to
Foster Weld
to take advantage of their 15% off deal going on this week.
  (Code: FW15)
You will NOT be sorry!!

The other day, my sister stole borrowed my
wrist cuff that I had gotten from Foster Weld.  Well, ALL of
her friends wanted one for themselves
after they saw it on her.
That is what is so cool about Foster Weld's items that they sell.
They are so unique and so different from the "ordinary"
accessories that you see out there.
I also love how their items are individually hand-crafted,
and even come with a signed postcard from
the person who made it for you.
So, go on over and check them out!

Well, after a LONG break, I am back.  We ALL had Strep, which
was oh, so fun! Not.  And then, when we were all on Amoxicillin
and getting better, my son had a reaction to his medicine and
woke up COVERED with red spots.
(This picture is of his back...look at those spots!!)

The doctor changed his medicine and luckily the spots went away.
It was so sad to look at him with his polka dots.
But, we are so happy that he is all better now!
That was a long few weeks.
Now, on a happier note, it's time
 to get back to crafting!

Washcloth Cupcakes/Teacher Gift

This is what we are doing for teacher gifts for Valentine's Day this year!!  Just wrap one of these washcloth cupcakes in a cellophane bag with a few candy conversation hearts, and you have a CUTE gift!

Here is what you will need:

*Washcloths, *Cupcake wrappers, *cupcake toppers

First, you need to lay out the washcloth, and fold
it in half, and then in
half again. (You can fold it
again after that for a third time, it depends on how
tall you want your cupcakes)

Then, take the end and fold it like in the picture above.
And, then start
rolling it, starting at the end
where you just folded it, and it should look
like this:

Then, put the rolled up washcloth in one of the
cupcake wrappers.
Once the washcloth is in there, you can
fluff it up, and
spread it out a little bit.

Since they are washcloths,
little heart soaps
added
to the top is a perfect finish!

Or, you can stick cute suckers
 in them like this

Crepe Paper Wreath

Are you looking for a CHEAP and EASY Valentines project?  Here it is.  I think it turned out pretty cute.

AND, all you need is 3 things to make this!

*Crepe Paper- I used about 3/4 of a roll and it made a wreath size about the size of a dessert plate, but you can make one as big as you would like
*A piece of wire
*Embellishments

Your first step is to cut the Crepe paper into about foot long strips.  You don't want to fold the whole roll into one bunch, because if you do that, it will be much harder to punch a hole all the way through.  That is why you take little strips at a time.  Makes the hole punching a lot easier!
So, as I just said, you want to fold the Crepe paper like this:

And when you have that piece folded, punch the wire through the middle like this:

And repeat until you have the whole length of the wire covered
like this:
(I added some white Crepe paper as well)

When you're done, add a few embellishments and a piece of ribbon to hang it from like this:

They would be so cute in any color!!
